Hi MTO,

Pls don't wait 6.1. I have a feeling that this serious bug is not noticed yet. It is related to our font, so mostly it is affected us not the majority. No wonder it is in spotlight and not their fault too. That said, it may take time to get notice and then fix would be far away.

Well, the best thing is to shoot as many as we could to several sources and to the authorities.

I have some progress now. I sent several emails to Apple CEO and now my email is taken care by Apple. I am in correspondence with Apple. Hence now we are getting some hope.

I have submitted a bug report to Apple.

Go https://bugreport.apple.com, login with ur ID and submit the bug reports.

Please urge your friends to submit if they have the same issues.

Thanks Ko Zaw,

I've tried bug reporter but it's a little bit strange for me. Could you explain me step by step how to report crash logs with crash screen shots if it won't bother you. If it worked, I would persuade my friends to follow my path. I swear

It is easy. log in , new problem, fill those data, use your iphone/ipad version # (from setting app).

In problem detail, follow the guidline. you can look at the best practice session or help.

Attach upload your crash logs in additional enclosure. and submit.

Config info session is mostly for computer/laptop. I don't find it for iOS.

But if u r submitting frequently. u can write your hardware iOS info in the config Manager, so no need to search on ur device and type again and again

dear ko zaw,

I'm having problem in bug report. Mainly in problem detail. I don't know how to write in steps to reproduce. I think easiest way is sending me an example of your report. Because we've same problem.

Summary:

All Myanmar (Burmese) Unicode fonts cause Apps crash / hang on iOS6 Devices

Steps to Reproduce:

Open Safari on iPad or iPhone(iOS6 and above).

Go to http://chawsufoodfriends.blogspot.com/ (It is a Burmese Web site)

You won't see Burmese characters as there is no Burmese fonts pre-installed.

Safari froze for a few mins or quit.

The same happen if emails contains Burmese Language characters.

Download Mogok Apps which uses webkit for browsing our Language sites.

Go to the same site above.

It takes a minute or two (longer than expected) to see the page.

Mail App also crash or freeze too.

All app which uses webkit for rendering freeze the same way Mail & Safari did.

This is the seriousness here.

Expected Results:

On previous version (up to iOS5), we are able to view all our sites with Third party Apps without delay. It is superfast like other English language sites.

Maill app doesn't freeze if incoming emails contain our unicode characters although it can't be viewed.

Actual Results:

Safari ( I suspect webkit ) couldn't process properly process our Burmese unicode fonts. So it is taking up time and quit if it is severe.

Regression:

I suspect webkit is the culprit. Our font is not frozen only on those apps which do not use webkit. Those apps display fonts in the text box in Native apps.

Notes:

Please fix this issue as soon as possible. It is not an isolated incident. It is happened on all iOS devices. I have asked several friends and they told me the same stories and most of them are frustrated. In the future, all our people will abandon Apple product.

All iPhones, iPads are super hot electronics in Myanmar. A lot of kids use those too. And now our Burma is transforming really quick to open up and catch up with the world soon. A lot of companies are busy with getting bases in there. Apple should also consider opening store there because it will become a big market too.

That's why I am serious about getting this fixed.

Please fix it. Thank you.

Massively thanks Ko Zaw,

Your message reflects your inner misery about apple and at the same time how much you give kindness on Myanmar peoples. I promise I'll try my best as you.

Yap...A bit annoy by this Unicodegate issue 😁.

bcoz we use our font a lot on iDevices.

But sadly, our font is just minority compare to all other languages.

So no wonder, it is not noticed and get attention.

And Myanmar people don't complaint much and don't know how and where to complaint (I am one of them).

Anyway...pls let other knows and share how to submit a bug reports..

Then eventually, it will be noticed and fixed.

We need a little more time and patient as we do fighting for freedom and justices. 😝

Hopefully it will be fixed in iOS 6.1 if not wait 6.1.1. or 7 😢.

Let wait and pray.

I notice it with my iPhone 4s, where I use burmese unicode. After upgrading to iOS6, all apps which uses burmese unicode become unusable. Mail, Safari, Whatsapp, all the apps you can name. Unknowningly, I upgrade to iPhone 5, the problem never goes away.

I had a good experience using burmese unicode with iOS5. It's such a shame what has been working before has broken in the new shiny OS.

I guess the only right thing apple did is firing Scott Forstall.

If u read above, you will see what config meant (I have explained detail to MTOo). You don't need configuration to submit. it is only for iMac or other types of hardware i think.

For crash report..it is easy pesy.

open burmese web site in safari..if safari disappear suddenly..u get crash report on ur iphone or ipad

then sync with ur computer and search crash report.

That will be it.
