Saving files

I'm thinking of getting my first ipad (I already have an iphone and an imac.) I see that Pages is available for ipad so I suppose I can do word processing. In that case, where do I save the file to? Can I use the ipad as if it were a hard drive or must I e-mail the document to myself when finished.

Email, DropBox, iCloud and iOS file sharing would all be ways that you can transfer your files to the iPad. Pages supports file sharing and you can set up a free iCloud account to transfer files from the Mac to the iPad.

Pages'09: storing your documents in iCloud.

And by the way .... Even of you are running Snow Leopard, you can still upload your Pages files from the Mac to iCloud. I can even use my old iMac running Tiger 10.4.11 to upload files to iCloud by using Safari and dragging the documents into the browser window.
