iphone 5 camera not focusing

Hi,

I got my iphone 5 this thursday, and the camera was working fine until I noticed this early afternoon that the camera is unable to focus on objects far away. I can get really close to something and it will focus clearly, but it would be blurry when I try to take a picture of things just in front of me.

I tried turning my phone off and on, and I also tried restoring the device. Still no improvements.

The device has never been dropped or damaged in any sort of way, so it is puzzling why the camera would do this all of a sudden.

Does anyone have the same issue?

If it still persists, would Apple replace my device?

I have the same issue exactly, close up focus is fine, anything a couple of feet away or more is out of focus.

I also have this same issue. Purchased black 64GB iphone5 after first week of release and it started yesterday. Front facing camera is fine and focused, but main camera does not. Going to applestore this afternoon to get resolved. Errr.

Hi finally got it fixed..apple store got me a new iphone 5 After many tests to see if it was a software issue.

Now resolved: I phoned Apple Support, we went through the usual drills of resetting, restoring the software, and the camera was still not focusing. They mailed me a brand new phone replacement and now everything works. It's okay Apple, it happens 🙂

My iphone5 camera stopped focusing and after reading post for the problem I remembered I had recently drop my phone. After reading the solution of dropping the phone on its back I tried it and now my camera focus works.
