Poor connection between Iphone5 and Beats Wireless Over-Ear Headphones

It used to work without any problems between my Iphone4s and my beats wireless headphones.

But when im using my beats to my iphone5 it seems to drop the connectivity while listening to music even thoug im having my phone in my pocket!

Is there any fix for this or does the iphone4s has a better bluetooth adapter?

And it's really freaking anoying!

I've also tried to put my phone in ariplane mode but it didn't help eater!

I have similiar issue on my iPhone 5, the connection sometime drop out and require power on/off the Beats Wireless.

Besides, I found a critical problem at Beats Wireless, the audio is not synchroinize in game play and video playback (max around 1 second). When playing music, it always fast forward 1-2seconds at begining to get synchorinze.

At the begining I think it may related to bluetooth problem, but the similiar never happened with my gamer headphone Turtle Beach XP500.

Hi guys, here's a list of the hardware that i have, iOS device, iOS version installed on the iDevices and the results of bluetooth connectivity.

- Dr Dre Wireless Headphones

- iPhone 3GS on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

- iPhone 4 on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

- iPhone 4S on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 4.0 Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

- iPhone 5 on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 4.0 Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

- iPad 2 on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

- iPad 3 on iOS 6 --> This iDevice has bluetooth 4.0 Hardware (according to Apple SPECS)

Now for the results:

- Every iDevices listed up there USED TO WORK perfectly on iOS 5 except iPhone 5 because this iDevice didn't exist.

- iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and the iPad 2 all WORK FLAWLESSLY with the Dr Dre Wireless Headphones even on iOS 6 ... my guess on that is because the hardware on those iDevices support bluetooth 2.1 + EDR only (Apple SPECS).

- iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 and iPad 3 all DON'T WORK with the Dr Dre Wireless Headphones on iOS 6 ... my guess on that is because the hardware on those iDevices support bluetooth 4.0 (Apple SPECS).

It would seem that Apple is not using the same HARDWARE DRIVER and this seems to the basis of the problems with bluetooth headphone (i can't confirm anything for you people with car problems but BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES i can confirm since i have several brands with all the same results).

The problem that i have and i'm pretty sure most of you have with bluetooth headphones is connectivity DROPS or sound THAT STOPS PLAYING although the iPhone STILL THINK that it's sending sound to your headphones BUT no sound can be heard.

I will send this BUG report to Apple and see what happens ... and if you have the same problems ... why don't you send my bug report as well unless you guys think it's not clear enough or not well documented.

If i turn the iPhone bluetooth off and then back on WITHOUT touching the headphones it works for a couple of minutes and then it stops again.

i got the same problem with my wireless beats.

i using my iphone 4s with my wireless beats for 1 year ago till now ... i didn't changed anything and it was work perfectly in IOS 5 but after i made update to IOS 6 i got the drop connection the whole time when i listening to my music.

i think the problem with IOS 6 is Bluetooth driver because the hardware for both devices is the same.

now i trying to find a way to back to IOS 5 because it is realy suck that drop in IOS 6.

i hope from apple support to find soution for that problem and send it in update

Same **** issue here. I had a first generation iPod Touch and my Beats Wireless worked perfectly fine with them. After a longgggggg time I decided to upgrade to this brand new iPod Touch and now my Beats Wireless don't work. They worked the first two days I purchased the new iPod Touch. Now two days later connection is sketchy and I keep getting drops!

Way to go Apple!!!

I just got my beats last night and I also have the iphone 5. It started cutting in and out and at first I thought something was wrong with my beats. Then I just kind of gave up since I new I could use the cord to plug into. So I went to bed and when I woke up this morning, I remembered something like this happening to a previous wireless headphones of mine and tried it and it seems to have done the trick. I turned my wifi off and ever since then, I have not lost connection and everything seems to be working fine now. I do hope that the new software update will address this but until then, I just will make sure not to be on wifi. Hope this helps.

I got my beats on 12/05/12 and i have an iphone 5. I am just now over the past week being able to really use them. I have the same issue. They work for maybe an hour and then right in the middle of a song they stop working. I love the sound of these beats and i paid a pretty penny for them so i want them to work correctly. I work out with these head phones and it is a pain to stop my work out and have to turn them off and back on for them to work. I called customer service at Beats By Dre and they said that they would replace them but after reading these responses i dont think it is my beats. I think it is the iphone 5. I also have the iPad3 and when i am watching movies on it i have no problem at all. And i dont want to just plug them in because the whole reason i bought the wireless ones is because i didnt want to have that wire conected to a device. I will try what dhawthorne said and try it with out it being on wifi but the issue with that is all of my music is on the cloud and i will be burning my data to listen to music when i can listen to music without using my data on wifi. I sure hope they come up with an update soon because this is a pain. I love my apple products but this is a total pain in the you know where for me.

I got my beats on 05/01/13 and I have a iPhone 5. I have also noticed since upgrading from Senheiser MM450's to my Dr Dre Wireless Beats that also my music randomly stops part way through a random song and also seems to skip fast through the first part of a song or the sound sounds like it is an old vinyl record with random tick tick break noises through the track I am playing, like it is having trouble playing the track. I seem to find just pausing and unpausing seem to make the music start again most times, hope this helps too, you guys having problems also. I upgraded to the beats, because I wanted more bass and volume to my music, which the senheiser's didn't have. Funny thing is the senheiser's did not have the random stopping of music with my iPhone 5. I purchased the senheiser's when I had the iPhone 4 and it was okay with them too. It just had the random reception problem sometimes when I was close to some electrical field or traffic lights or something powerful enough to cut out the bluetooth reception to the headphones while the iPhone was in my pocket, soon as I took the iPhone 5 out of pocket problem went away. I hope Apple has a fix for this very soon it is very anoying to say the least.

I tried turning wifi off but it seem to have no affect on the random cutting out. Anyone else had further positives or negatives of turning wifi off as well? Apple needs to sort this out. Especially when beats are used in the Apple Retail stores for demo on iPod's and other devices. Perhaps Apple Retail needs to use the Wireless Beats and see if they have the same issue as all of us are having. 😟
