Old, Old,,,Old iMac sync to iPhone5?

So, I just bought an iPhone 5 and I noticed in the tech specs that the iPhone 5 requires OS 10.6 or later to sync with iTunes. I have an old iMac that can only be upgraded to 10.5. Mine is as far as it can go, 10.5.11. Am I right in thinking the only way to get all my music, apps and contacts and bookmarks,I.E. everything that's on my 3rd generation iPod to my iPhone 5 is to back up everything to the iCloud? Then when I get my iPhone 5 complete the setup assistant and back up from iCloud?

I'm aware of that.

I'm assuming you aren't using iTunes Match since I believe that requires OS X 10.6.

iTunes Match will allow you to pull your media down from the cloud, but you can't get it up to the cloud to begin with on OS X 10.5.

If you can't upgrade your computer to 10.6.8, there is no way to sync your music to an iPhone 5 short of using a different computer that can handle iTunes 10.7.

First and fore most, thank you Tim for all your help.

Turns out I do have Ttunes Match on my home computer. I have iTunes 10.6.3 at home. So for 24.95 a year I can have all my music including the cd's I've ripped? Correct me if I'm wrong. If I do this all my music will be in the cloud and I'll be streaming as I'm listening? If that's the case then that won't work for me since I work 3 floors underground and get no signal. Also if I'm streaming all the time does that count against my data plan? I'd hate to use up my 4 gigs a month just listening to my music.

Again thanks for your help I really appreciate it.
