I have used the free font You Are Loved many times.
Since installing os x 10.8.2 all letters have been replaced with the Hebrew icon you see in the image. This is consistant with many of my TTF.
I have since restarted in safe mode to clear the font cache but this has had no effect.

I think you can just ignore this. It probably reflects some error in the way the font has been constructed. Such errors are not uncommon in free fonts. If actually using the font causes you problems, then remove it.
Unfortunately I use this font for an entire identity so its not so easy to remove it.
This font and others worked in OS X 10.6.4
In fact it works now!
The thumbnail is still incorrect but it works fine in my graphics program.
I believe the solution was restarting in Safe Mode by holding the shift key until the load bar finishes and then simply restarting the computer as usual.
Good news. From your graphic I thought you had never actually installed it or tried to use it. The Fontbook depiction does not necessarily reflect how the font will operate in practice.
