question about chargers

I am just an apple beginner and have a few questions. What is the difference between a L shape charger and a T shape charger? Also, is the MagSafe 2 power adapter that they sell the same one that comes with the MacPro Retina laptop? For this charger I see many negative reviews. What are the other options if this one is so bad?
