Keyboard or motherboard or software issue?

Did you install new software? What is the current keyboard configuration?

System Preferences --> Keyboard --> Input Sources

What's selected in the left pane? What is the language? Check the 'Text' section as well. You could add key replacements there very easily. Makes for a good prank.

They can always repair it. If under warranty, for free. Else expect a juicy charge.

Unfortunately, on the unibodies a keyboard replacement implies replacing the "topcase". That's what Apple calls THE ENTIRE CHASSIS of the computer, sans the bottom lid and the display. Requires gutting the Mac to transfer all the innards to the new "topcase" and goes for the tune of ~$800. At least in my neck of the woods.

And they'll try to hock it on you for the least excuse. For instance, my Caps Lock keycap broke off on its own accord. Apple wanted to do the "topcase tango" on me and I had to pay cause it was a "cosmetic defect", AppleCare be damned. Needless to say, I got a new keycap online for $5.

You can always get a generic USB keyboard and use it in lieu of the internal one. Just don't get fancy with a wireless one, cause with your luck the Bluetooth port will fry.... 😝

I'm using the bluetooth keyboard of my ipad.But the keyboard of my macbook, it's all time typing things, you know what I mean? I'm not pressing anything, and the keyboard it's all time writing letters.
