win32-dropper-gen[drp]

I installed Avast! and it has found a trojan called win32-dropper-gen[drp] -

Can i get this on a mac? How do I remove? Should I be concerned?

The fact that the name includes "win32" indicates that this is Windows malware, so you are in no danger.


In addition, note that Avast is not something I recommend using on a Mac. It has a tendency to falsely identify legitimate system files as malware, and if you allow it to quarantine or delete those files, it could bork your system. Remove Avast, and read my Mac Malware Guide. If you still want anti-virus software after reading that, use one of the tools it recommends instead of Avast.
