Can't start Numbers, can't reinstall

MacBook Pro, 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard), bought a year and a half ago. I bought all of iWork from the AppStore right after buying the computer, have used them happily until earlier this month.

Now, when I open any of the iWork apps - including Numbers - I get a message telling me that "Files that iWork needs are missing" and recommends a reinstall.

However, I am unable to reinstall from the AppStore because the version NOW on the download is only compatible with 10.7.4 or higher. I would prefer not to have to upgrade my OS to resolve a problem with my productivity apps and will happily switch to another product before doing that. Any suggestions for how to resolve/repair my malfunctioning software?
