Q: Can't receive email with icloud.com domain

I'm having trouble with the icloud.com domain. I still have the old me.com email and it works fine receiving mail but I prefer the new icloud.com domain to be my new default to give people and the only thing I can do on it is send email. Why is this the case when both are technically the same?

    Hi DenaliDad, I think the @iCloud password should be the same as the one as @me.com becasue I was able to setup my iCloud account in my iphone 6 using the same password though I specify the not yet working @iCloud email id as the Account/Apple ID. Once I did that it also created the iCloud email account automatically using the @me.com email address.

    There must be a problem on my end then. When I use my current me.com password, I get an error message. And the Apple Genius woman said there was 'no such thing' as an icloud.com domain--I guess it's so new even Apple employees aren't all that up-to-speed.

    Alright I found out the icloud.com email only works on the website just fine. I'm able to make test sends to myself, but it still won't work doing the same while on the iPhone.

    As of today, my @icloud email is not working yet. However on iCloud.com I can send out from @icloud account, but unable to receive email.
