Problems with SMTPOUT Servers

I have multiple email accounts running on apple mail

• 2 hotmail pop
• 1 Gmail
• 3 Imap (godaddy)

In addition I have icloud running to sync accross machines

My IMAP accounts are setup exactly as Godaddy advises and still I am unable to send emails intermittently. Sometimes it tells me I have the wrong password (I do not, it works with the same psw via webmail), sometimes it just sits in the outbox and does nothing, sometimes it times out.

Days later it decides to work. In addition when I update the settings like ports etc sometimes it revert to old.

I am ready to give up on apple mail, it just does not work properly. Any tips on how to solve this once and for all would be appreciated.
