whenever I try and play a podcast,

most times it plays music but podcast does not,

    Is it a video podcast?

If so, try the following user tip:

iTunes for Windows 10.7.0.21: "iTunes has stopped working" error messages when playing videos, video podcasts, movies and TV shows

Yes that worked, thank you for the advice,

I found that answer also in my searches and it helped 99 percent

just getting slow movement in the podcasts,

but at least it plays the podcasts and doesn't shut down.

So I have been trying to tweak that colum, and put some

check marks into some of the other boxes and still

cannot get a perfect podcast video.

    Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply and the help. Very much appreciated.

Applecare said they were going to do the research and call me back

today, at least I can tell them that I got it working almost perfect.

just getting slow movement in the podcasts,

but at least it plays the podcasts and doesn't shut down.

Yeah, the workaround can sometimes degrade video performance, I'm afraid. Ultimately what's needed is a bug-fix update to iTunes to address this one. (The video content should be playing as it did with version 10.6.3.25.)

One other workaround that might be worth a try is launching your iTunes in Safe Mode and then trying to play the podcasts.

For instructions see the following document:

iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins

(I'd check video performance in iTunes Safe Mode both with and without the user tip workaround in place.)

Thanks again, and I did try in safe mode,

did not help either, I wonder if Quick Time Pro will help?

Since i never had a problem prior to the Itunes update?

Also when Applecare gets back to me he might have a better

    solution on fixing the video.

I rarely use the Netbook, I am always on the Macmini

and Iphone, I put in a question since I am supposed to sell

the 4s today and want to reset, so I have another question pending, that

is where my concerns are today on resetting safely and how to do it, so

my mind is stuck in that mode, again thanks for the feedback.

    Sincerely

No, no ... that just unlocks some functionality in the QuickTime Player. It doesn't alter the QuickTime Program files at all. So it'd not be worth paying money to go Pro in order to overcome this one ... I don't think it'd have any impact. I'm pretty certain the issue is at the iTunes end of things for folks with this.

a really nice Applecare rep who was doing an investigation of this problem for me,

contacted me about the error message and not being able to keep itunes running.

When he called I told him what you suggested and that saved us allot of time.

I also played the podcast and it showed a slight delay with video to voice.

He has me go to the sound on task bar, and change the setting

to a different and slower mghz,

It helped somewhat but not a problem, he also thought that since I am connected to a

Samsung 51 inch TV from the netbook vga connection adaptor to hdmi, connection

that might cause some speed issues, but I looked directly on the Netbook and it still

has that delay since 10.7 so I do hope that it is investigated by Apple.

When I first called Applecare about the issue one rep refused to help saying it was a

    Windows issue.

I was surprised since most reps try to help in Applecare.

In any case I was helped and now the next issue to learn.

    bye
