I am running on Mac OS X 10.4.11 I need an upgrade, but, what upgrade can I do?

My system is running on Mac OS X 10.4.11 and I need to upgrade because at this point there are many other programs that I would like to download and I can't on the current system. What do I need to do to upgrade? What upgrade would be available to me?

A PPC Mac like your G4 can only run Leopard 10.5.8. It is no longer available from Apple so you will have o look on eBay or Amazon for a black retail install disk.

All newer versions of OS X require an Intel mac.
