Hi all, I have a 2007/2008 Mac book and I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8 (9L31a).

Hi all, I have a 2007/2008 Mac book and I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8 (9L31a). I have just got an iphone 5, when I went to connect to itunes, I was told I need the version 10.7. So i downloaded this, but then I was told in order to run the 10.7 version I need at least the OS X 10.6.8 for this to work. I downloaded the update for OS X 10.6.8 which won't work as I need the 10.6 update.

Can anyone help as the 10.6 update no longer seems to be available online nore can I download the original Snow Leopard I require from the APP Store.

WHAT TO DO ??????

You have to upgrade to 10.6.8 to be able to download iTunes 10.7. The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list. The App Store which is required to download 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion is part of the 10.6.6 update.

If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.
