Reminders do not sync

Reminders on my Mac and my iPhone 4 do not sync.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Thank you for responding. While the article did not directly help me, I learned that both my iPhone and MAC must have Reminders open, in order for the iCloud sync to take place. This sounds pretty simple, but thank you.
