I have an os 10.6.8 server and im down to less than one gig on the boot drive of 100gigs I have 2 partitions on the drive and plenty of open space just want to grow the boot partition by 100gigs not sure how this is done. I cant seem to do it in disc utility. any ideas?

Maybe you can't because there is just a few free space left.
1GB is a very small space quantity for OS X to work properly.
I realize there is very little space left I have a lot of empty space on the back of the drive after the update partition what I want to do is make the boot partition go from 100gig to say 200gig but its not possible to do this in disc util because I am booted to the drive. I think if I boot to an external drive using maybbe boot camp it will allow me to access the boot disc using disc utility but I am not sure I cant find any info on this at all.
I meant, probably Disk Utility does not let you do that because there is not enough free space.
On my iMac (10.7.5) Disk Utility, let me resize my boot partition live.
Is the second partition a Boot Camp partition?
