Ibook Screen

A few days ago the screen on my ibook began to flicker after opening it past a certain angle. After reading around I think it is the reed switch. I really don't want to open the ibook to do it myself, but I really dont want to pay apple so much to have it fixed. Are there any other companies that will fix it for less? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.

DT & T Computer Services does the repair for $125 plus shipping to and from Fremont, California. They are not Apple Authorized, but they offer a six-month warranty on parts and labor.

Dominion Tech in Vermont used to do the repair for $79.90. You can call and ask if the price still stands.

John Sawyer (CJS Macintosh Repair-Apple Authorized) has said he will match DT & T's $125 plus shipping price on the backlight cable repair:
