My iPhone 5 is taking blurry pictures.
My iPhone is taking grainy and blurry pictures the majority of the time. It is quite disappointing since I have used a 4s that I think takes much better pictures.

I slammed my iPhone 5s on a flat surface (table) several times on it’s front as well as it’s back, as suggested by people here. However, it continued taking fuzzy pictures and videos. After reaching the highest point of frustration and when I was planning to go back to using my iPhone 4, I slammed real hard the back of the phone (where the camera is located) again the back end of my left palm. Hold and behold; the darn thing started focusing for pictures and videos again !!
Like about a week or more I tripped....badly and it made my camera blurry I was bummed because I love to take pictures and now I can't but I will try smacking it or hitting try that hopefully it will work for you
Woooow! Daebak! My camera wont focus when I bought it since it was only a second-hand iphone 5. One day, the camera suddenly focus and I was amazed bcoz I didnt do anything. Reading all your replies here made me realize that it was actually bcoz I dropped it once and it hit hard on the ground! But today, photos were blurry again and it's irritating! So I searched how to fix it! I actually found it weird to drop the iphone faced down and yet I still tried it, haha! AND IT WORKED!!! You guys are amazing!!!!! Thank u gor diz hack! :) God bless you!!!! 😍
Do you have links to some of the photos? Maybe there are some specific lighting conditions with the test photos you took?
I'm thinking of getting an iPhone 5 and am very curious how good the camera is compared to my iPhone 4.
Thanks,

Use a steady hand and a well lit surroundings
I would post examples but most are of my GF and she would not be excited if I posted them here. (No not bad photos) they where taken outside in cloud diffused sunlight. I feel like I practically need a tripod to hold it steady enough. Any motion seems to be blurring very easy. Is it a very slow shutter speed?
Her 4s takes better photos with less hassle.
If you're doing direct comparisons between the 4S and the 5 and the 5's photos are worse that's not a very good sign.
Well, if you take some pictures without your GF and can post them some where it would be interesting to see.
Thanks,

I have read some post with similar issues that were fixed with a restore. Maybe this would help? How do I go about this and keep everything I put together on my phone? ( don't want to have to rue download everything)
If you connect to your power supply and do a backup to iCloud (it should do that automatically once a day if you have iCloud setup) then when you restore it will restore from your latest backup and you will not have lost anything.
You can go to Settings > iCloud and confirm when your latest backup was saved.

I also have the same issue with my iPhone 5. My wife has an android smartphone with 8MP camera similar to the iPhone 5 and its a day and night difference in the picture quality.
Pusalkar,
Which Android does your wife have?
doug@dying to see photo comparisons!
Ok I have backed it up to the cloud. How do I reset it or restore it?
To restore, go to Settings > Settings > Rest > Erase All Content and Settings.
When it starts up again the Setup Assistant will give you an option to restore from your backup.
Here is a doc on it:

See the section there "How to restore from a backup."
