Q: software / screen issues, software / screen issues

I have a replacement nano - it is the 6th gen..

Everything works okay, but it has a problem with the screen/ touch software.. Nothing really works when I touch it, it sort of gets this larger ring around it and then you have to tap it a couple of times for it to work.. Any suggestions as what to do? Its pretty much impossible to use it
