Oct 3, 2012 12:05 AM in response to sivachinnaiyanby mcgerbs,it sounds liek you have just forgotten your admin password correct?
if you have tried leaving the filed blank and still cannot reset, then it will be really easy to reset if you ahve 10.7 or 10.8
Boot to recovery partition
--Hold down command r when the computer is off and reboot
select english
you will now see MAC OS X UTILITIES
on the aplpe menu at the top select utilities
--(not mac os x utilites next to the )
select terminal
a white box will appear
type in "resetpassword" no spaces no quotes and press return.
form there a new window will appear.
select the drive (likely mac hd)
select the admin user
PRESS SAVE, NOT RESET!
you will be good to go.
upon logging in it may ask about keychain, or the log in keychain... just go into keychain acces from utilites and delete the login keychain and files from the file menu

Note
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but you won't be able to unlock the Keychain. If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it. You’ll need to reset your keychain in the preferences of the Keychain Access application.
