Printer "read failure" -- unable to open device

Suddenly, after three plus years, we are unable to print. Getting a message from the printer -- "Unable to open device (read failure)!" I've spent almost three houyrs trying to figure this out. It is a wireless connection. I've turned power off and on. I've deleted and re-added the printer (Canon MP610). My only though is about a week ago we added Mountain Lion to the laptop. Using Snow Leopard on the desktop. Any thoughts?

Problem solved (wireless) ----- looks like a virus/block from a gaming site (Roblox/Roblox Studio). As soon as I trashed it, the printer was reconnected. The virus/block also (last night --- a few days after the printer issue) interrupted my access to Parrallels (hardware visualization was disconnected). That's when I figured it was time to delete the program since Roblox was our primary access to the outside world other than traditional search engines and traditional internet. Both problems resolved instantly. Perhaps it is just because we were part of the 1% or less that were using Roblox with less than a 10.6 OS (which no longer supported Roblox).
