Trouble installing ATI 9800 Pro into G5

I am trying to install an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro into my G5 (dual 1.8 running 10.5.8) with no success. The card came out of another working G5. I've installed ATI Displays and followed their installation process but no luck. I am using the CD drive power connector for the card until i can get a splitter. The card's fan is running but nothing shows up on my screen(s).

have also tried resetting the PRAM but couldn't get it to work (holding option, command, P, R as the computer is started. Apple states the computer will restart but that doesnt happen.

I am able to reinstall the old card and have no problems with the display.

Any suggestions?

All the drivers necessary for a Radeon 9800 Pro or XT are already in the OS.

Unless you made an installation error (not properly seated, static issue, broken or cracked capacitor) the card should be plug and play.

Could be the card was damaged or died in transit?

As for not being able to reset the PRAM, this can occur with non Apple keyboards. Try a Open Firmware boot (Cmd+Option+O+F) and reset the NVRAM:

Apple states the computer will restart but that doesnt happen.

That's a NVRAM reset. Resetting the PRAM makes the Mac cycle through the chime process. Hold the keys until hearing a second chime, then release and the machine starts with the PRAM settings reset.
