Reinstalling iTunes 10.5 with OS X 10.5.8

Recently had a hard drive failure. I had the Apple Store reinstall OS X 10.5.8, as I do not wish to have to upgrade all of my business software applications to have a more current Mac OS X. After restoring from my Time Machine, my iTunes (Ver. 10.5) is acting quirky and among other things will not sync to my iPod. I receive messages saying reinstall iTunes; however, iTunes 10.7 apparently will not install with my OS X 10.5.8.


What I wish to do is to reinstall iTunes 10.5, but all download sites, even if they advertise 10.5 downloads, actually attempt to download 10.7, which as I said will not install with my older OS X.


How can I obtain an iTunes 10.5 version to reinstall? Please advise.

Apple removes almost all old versions from its support site except for a few cornerstone versions. There's iTunes 9, then the last one for pre-OSX10.6 is

If you absolutely must have iTunes 10.5 there is this file


http://appldnld.apple.com/iTunes10/041-2597.20111011.PigVe/iTunes10.5.dmg


It is hidden on Apple's servers and probably not intended for you to download but it is on one of their servers so it isn't a disallowed link to an external server.
