How can I see if my iPhone 4S is sim free

How can I check without taking out the sim card and replace to another that my phone is factory unlocked?

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.0.1

Without trying another SIM, you can't be certain. Did you purchase this iPhone as unlocked, and if so from where did you purchase it? Or did it come locked and you've contacted the carrier to arrange unlocking and now wish to confirm?

I have bought it from a carrier, I have arrange the unlocking, but at the moment I can't change sim cards and I wanted to verify if it is alright.

If you restored the iPhone as directed and got the "your iPhone is now unlocked" message, then it should be unlocked, but again, the only way to verify will be to try it with another carrier's SIM.
