Add to that price the state and community sales tax you'd pay in most places in the US as well as the VAT and import duties you'll probably need to pay when you bring the iPhone back to your country and any perceived price advantage probably will at least be lessened if not eliminated. Add to that the fact that you would have no warranty in The Netherlands and would have to send the iPhone to someone in the US to take or send to Apple, should it ever need service, and I think you'll find it better just to buy the iPhone in your own country even if you do have to pay a bit more.

But if you buy an unlocked iPhone, then yes, it should work in The Netherlands.

I did some research, but I got very mixed findings. People saying that the warranty is available in an Apple store in the Netherlands as long as you buy it in an apple store in the US. As it comes to the additional expenses is not the question at the moment. Thats something to look over when I'm sure the Iphone will at least work properly.

That is incorrect. It's been confirmed by numerous people here that Apple Store following Apple's warranty and service policy will refuse service on iPhones sold in other countries. I can't say that some Apple technician has not taken it upon themselves to grant an exception, but I would suggest you not count on that happening. Again, the warranty on a US-sold iPhone will be officially valid only in the US.

Hi

So basicly if you buy an iPhone from USA the mager issue that Hardware Warranty and I will explain.

If you have any Software issue with the device AppleCare or Retail Store can help you without issues; but if you have a Hardware issue then unfurtunatly you will need to take back the device to the point-of-purchase or a Retail Store or make a carry-in that basicly needs an USA address.

Note: this is not only with USA devices and not only with iPhones; this is with any iOS device with Cellular data and its vice-versa. So if you buy an iPhone in Germany and move to USA you will need to take/send device back to Europe. Ofc the rest any iPad without Cellular will be repaired in USA or Europe as well; with Mac's same global Warranty no issues.

Hope it clears a few things.
