Spotlight and time machine not working with 10.7.5 software update?

So, since updating Lion software to 10.7.5 spotlight and (because of this) time machine not working, displaying remaining time to complete task in weeks and months. Does anybody know if this is an issiue with Mountain Lion? Having been holding off upgrading due to incompatabilty with music software such as BFD, but if it sorts these problems out I guess I will do it. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Thank you. I'm sure you are right, but I just wanted a simple answer to my question - does anybody know if this problem afflicts Mountain lion? If not I will do an upgrade.

People are reporting the problem started with 10.7.5 and 10.8.2. A handful upgrading to 10.8.2 report the problem fixed while others report no change.

I restored 10.7.4 from time machine and now I am waiting for 10.8.3 - third time lucky?

Just got the official update/fix for 10.7.5 - spotlight turned back on and indexing as we speak. Will try back up later; so far so good. Will report in due course...
