My iPhone 5 won't connect to the internet unless wifi is on.  Why?  Have I missed a setting?

iPhone 5, iOS 6, connecting to internet via 3G

you will need to contact your phone carrier for cellular data issue, you can also check in settings to make sure that cellular data is turned on.

That's what I was beginning to think At& T was the problem since all the cellular data setting are on.

I'll call them and hope for a good and easy outcome.

I forgot to mention you can try a reset, hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.. and see if you get cellular data.

Did you figure out what was wrong with your phone?  I'm having the same problem.

Whatever it was the reset fixed it

The reset resolved it for me, as well. Thanks!

A reset will fix the connection to cellular network temporarily, but everyday I have to reset my iPhone 5, when switching from wifi to cell service.  It's not everytime the phone switches from wifi to cell data. My service is AT&T in the Chicago area. It's also happening to both of my parents iPhone 5's too! My iOS version is 6.0.1.

I am having the same problem! AT&T in Chicago, my Dads Siri won't work on cellular either, iPhone 5. None of my apps were connecting to cellular untill i saw this post. I was seriously considering going back to the 4S. Plus the JB on this sucker looks 'grim'.

Same issue with my service in Michigan - Sprint is provider and I have been in the store and on phone multiple times since purchase.  Reset everyday and will then be about to access my Un-limited data plan for about 10 minutes.  Have had to bust out my old Tom Tom for navigation's since I work on the road and data is unreliable for use of Maps or Google Maps.  I was recently told in the Flint store that it is an APPLE issue not a phone issue and carriers across the board are having these complaints.  "Apple is working on a fix to get the devices to communicate with the data signals, keep checking for updates on the phone"

So I am hoping a fix is coming but in the mean time I am paying for unlimited data service I am unable to use and Sprint says it is not their fault so can't do anything.    Love the phone, easy to use and great potential if it ever works right.
