Q: Why is Netflix Instant Queue not loading and freezing my browser?

Whenever I try to play my Netflix Instant queue, the browser bar shows signs of it loading but the page flickers, loading stops and when I click anywhere on the page I get the spinning circle of doom.

This click also disables other pages/tabs from being opened and pages/tabs that were open, lose their connection. I am unable to minimize or close these pages/tabs as well.

Strangely, the Google search bar is somehow accessible and after entering a search command, not once but twice, the connection comes back and that specific web page is working again.

What the **** is going on?

I have: reset my computer, made sure I have the latest Apple software, latest Silverlight update, tried enabling and disabling Safari plug-ins, switching users and shutting the computer down.

This randomly happened today and I really have no clue why this started or how to fix it.

Can anyone help me?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

If you are still running Snow Leopard, Try using Disk Utility to do a Disk Repair, as shown in this link, while booted up on your install disk.

You could have some directory corruption. Let us know what errors Disk Utility reports and if DU was able to repair them. Disk Utility's Disk Repair is not perfect and may not find or repair all directory issues. A stronger utility may be required to finish the job.

    After that Repair Permissions.

No need to report Permissions errors....we all get them.  I have had success doing this (but I use the much better program Disk Warrior) but keep in mind it might be a glitch on Netflix's end. Sometimes directory issues will show up first while using the internet.
