really need some help i have never had an iphone but i have itunes but it doesnt reconize it when i plug into my my. i have itune 9.2 if that helps

It requires iTunes 10.7, which requires OS X 10.6.8 or higher. You will have to upgrade iTunes and possibly OS X.
Yep i have tried to update itunes but its not compatible.. my mac is 10.4.11? is the 10.6.8 leopard? how much do you think it will be to upgrade the laptop. its so silly it doesnt work with older models my laptop is only 5yrs
10.6.8 is Lion.
ONLY 5 years is a lifetime in tech years... Even in a world where Macs remain useful far longer than their PC cousins, it's a relatively long time.
You're undoubtedly going to have to add RAM in addition to upgrading to Lion.
It may not be unreasonable to just consider getting a new machine in the near future.

Just ignore Julielee44... That's not going to change anything.
The tech from apple store did it for me, he said, you will restore and sign in with your apple ID, so your contact is transferred, he took my phone, and there it is. It solved my battery problem too.
And how is that going to help someone who can't sync their phone to their computer, or, for that matter, can't sync their computer to iCloud?
Your experience is completely unrelated to the question posed.
^She probably had a similar issue which her solution worked... Calm down. My solution was to save my iTunes library and reinstall iTunes. Once reinstalled, I opened iTunes to create a new library, then replace that library with my saved version. Reboot, and sync. Worked.
But he has a lower version of iTunes so it will not see his device.
About the only thing you can do without a computer is to use "Erase all content and settings" found under
Settings > General > Reset
This will delete all your saved data and restore the phone to factory settings.
I would first backup to iCloud before doing a reset. Then you could at least use icloud.com to put stuff back on your phone but iCloud doesn't hold all music, photos, mail, or voice recordings.
Good luck! And I believe OSX Lion is pretty cheap. You can find it in the Mac Store under Apps and then review if you have the proper hardware to support it. That is cheaper than buying a new mac.🙂
