connecting mac's with a firewire cable

i have a macbook pro, powerpc G5 and a 800/400 9-pin to 6-pin firewire cable. last summer my brother moved all my music from my powerpc to my macbook and i dont really know how he did it. i was wondering if there is a way to move some of my music from my macbook to my powerpc with the cable i have. if anyone knows please tell me how.

Connect the two. Then power up the ppc g5 and hold down the 'T' key so it boots into target disk mode. You should see the ppc's hard drive on the dektop of the MacBook Pro.
