iPone Earphone Jack Issue

On my iPone 5 the plug for the iPone earphones and any other headphones I have barely fits into the iPhone 5 earphone jack.

The plug barely stays in on its own, and, while playing music, the music will cut in and out like there is a short.

Anyone else have this issue? Is there any resolution beside returning the phone?
