Siri slow with iOS 6 update

Yes, same exact behavior. AT&T iPhone 4S.

Same here. AT&T iPhone 4S. I'm better off just texting, or looking things up myself, otherwise she takes FOREVER or sometimes FAILS.

Ditto. 4S on AT&T. I don't think it's possible that *only* 5 people are having this problem!

I'm having the same trouble. AT&T and iPhone 4S. Does anyone know the cause or a way to fix it yet?

I'm thinking at this point that it's a server issue. The phone is now more popular than ever and bazillions of people are trying to use Siri. Siri herself, in the phone is not all that smart. It seems that she needs to go to the server for every instruction. If the server is loaded up, slow response. Other times she is lightning quick. Doubt there's anything we can do to fix except complain!

Same issues here. Since the update, Siri just thinks and thinks and thinks, before finally responding to my request. Very aggrevating.

I believe it's a server issue also as I am in Canada with Rogers, it's the same. Initially it takes forever to get a response from Siri. But once you have one query returned, the rest are quite quick... Till the next time you use it again...

Here's how I solved it. Go to Settings->General->Siri, turn Siri off, wait a few seconds and turn it on again. I think the server data that this erases is old iOS5 related data which is incompatible with our phones new iOS6.

I'll give it a shot and let you know how it works. I'm a bit skeptical about this being the solution because it happens on my iPad, too, which never had Siri before iOS 6, so there was no old data to erase. Worth a try, though, thanks for the idea.

Well, that did not work. I turned off Siri, waited a few minutes, even power cycled the phone before turning Siri back on. Activated Siri, spoke 'Weather', and it timed out, Siri 'apologized' that there was a problem. Second attempt took a number of seconds before Siri responded with the local weather.

Same issues. Seems strange. I'm coming from a 4 to a 5 so this is my first time using Siri. The first couple days Siri seemed to work pretty well. The one day it just hit a wall. When I'm already in a message coversation it works well dictating my messages but if I want to start one, forget it. Takes forever to recognize the person I want to message. Doing internet seaches or restaurants, maps, etc... Forget it. 45-60 seconds. I could dial 411 and get quicker responses. And the voice activated calling is terrible. Again, it takes forever to figure out who I want to call and that if it even gets it correct. I wish I could diable Siri just on that function alone. The old school voice dialing worked spot on for me for years. Whats going on?!?!

Day 2 w iphone and I cannot access store and Siri doesnt work for a **** after all the praise I heard about it.

I have 10 days to return the phone

Guess what Im doing. Back to a samsung android latest and greatest.

I don't think this is simply a server issue. I use Siri to set my alarm and even that is a lot slower since the update. Setting an alarm should have nothing to do with the server.
