My software update under the apple menu keeps saying that no updates are available, but my itunes and mac OS X software is clearly out of date. I am trying to set up my iphone 5 and it is not working. Need help please! 🙂

You are running Leopard and need to update to Snow Leopard (10.6.8) which is a paid upgrade. It is not available in stores anymore you will need to call 1-800-MY-APPLE to order it. You need to have an Intel-based Mac to run it.
