I'm trying to back up data from tim Machine into a G-Drive Mini and the message is that it will take about 71 days to transfer 647,253 items. I'm a "newbie" using Time Machine and have not been able to make the transfer speedier. How can I do that?

I have the same issue,
I did all the suggestion to solve this issue,
restart my mac
verifiy the external HDD
verifiy the mac HDD
reformat the external HDD,
and it never getting any better,
can you please help us in this issue
Apple has released an update for this issue,,
after installing the update , i restarted the back up and now it sounds resonable "about 6 hours"
