phone number format

For years we've styled our phone phone numbers (US) as xxx.xxx.xxxx.

The new Contacts in ML doesn't allow us to do this…or does it? Is there a preference I'm missing for custom phone formats?

Having periods as separator a is really not US standard. Generally dashes are. That said, I've had to post a phone number at various web sites and each one has their own way of accepting the input. Some don't want anything separating the numbers, while some will accept a dash after the area code only.
