personal hotspot
Dear Apple enthusiasts,
I am a big fan of my iPhone 4 which I have been using since 2010. There is one issue however that I cannot get resolved, and I hope this forum can provide a solution.
Back in 2010, I lived in Singapore (Asia) where I purchased the phone on the Apple store and used it in combination with the local provider SingTel. Early 2012 I moved to the Netherlands, where I currently reside. Here, I am using the local provider Vodafone NL (on an "office" contract - called "Vodafone zakelijk").
I was able to get all features (3G, email, internet, etc.) working properly on my iPhone 4, with the exception of the "Personal Hotspot".
When I try to activate that, a message pops up: "To activate Personal Hotspot on this account, contact vf nl". I can't get past this message (see pictures attached below):
I have tried everything:
- I contacted the provider to verify that they allow me to use Personal Hotspot, and they confirm that from their end the option is active
- I tried activating / deactivating Airplane Mode
- I reset my network settings
- I have re-entered the providers APN details
- I checked for updates from my provider - my phone is completely up to date
- I even downloaded the latest version of iTunes and restored my iPhone completely - I am running latest version IOS6.0
Needless to say, all did not have the desired result. The error message still pops up.
Any ideas?
Kind regards,
Sjoerd Manschot
