I have been trying to sync my iPhone 4S for a a week and have been having issues. This has never happen before and I have had an iPhone for ages! When I Sync my iPhone 4S, a window pops up and say that there is not enough space and I need to make more room for storage. However, I have plenty of room on my iPhone to do about double the amount that is says is needed. What do I do?

Are there movies and/or other videos that you are going to be syncing to your phone this time?
No Movies, no videos, no large games, nothing. I have not added anything or changed anything. It started doing this for no reason. I don't even know what those "5.35 GB" would be.
Reboot your phone, and see if it still does that. Hold the home button and off button down at the same time until it go's dark and the apple symbol comes back up.
And if that doesnt work, back it up to icloud.

Back it up to icloud, at least you have a recent backup then.
Semantics: you have 10GB free, and Sync says it needs an additional 5.35GB. Additional. Whatever you are trying to sync needs 15.35GB.
There isn't anything that I am trying to add to my phone. I haven't downloaded anything (movies, videos, or anthing else) that would require that amount of space. That is where the issue is.
Just to make sure, you havent saved anything from safari, that would be a large file,etc.
Having this problem too. Downloaded one song from iTunes since my last sync and uploaded the photos on my phone to my computer.
Closest Genius Bar appointment is Monday and I'm flying to Antigua on Saturday. #Firstworldproblems.
I figured out how to fix it.
When you iPhone is plugged in, click on the device.
Then click uncheck Music (or whatever you have the most memory) then let it sync.
When it is done, recheck it and then it should load everything back to the way it was.
Then you will no longer have that problem.
