i just purchased this secondhand how to get the extra software on the drive

I have just purchased imac which has been reset, I was informed that software would come with the purchase but no discs have been supplied. I am advised the programs are on the hard drive so how do I install them onto my profile. thanks


Question 2 is should I re-register the machine in my name? how do i do this

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Purchased from and reset by who? Which software? If the programs are on the machine, then they should exist in the root-level /Applications folder and all you need to do is double-click them to launch them. BTW, there aren't any user profiles on Macs, just user accounts.
