Stuck System Preferences

When in System Preferences, I was about to change the screen saver by reviewing choices from my iPhotos when the System Preferences suddenly became unresponsive. Force quitting did not make it work either the second or third time of trying Force Quit. Get the spinning circle. What now?

Well obviously Force Quit it again.

Now use the Finder Go > Go to Folder and paste this in

~/Library/Preferences

and scroll down until you see

com.apple.systempreferences.plist

and drag the one you can (might be two of the same name) to the Trash and empty, reboot the machine and reset your System Preferences, but this time do not include the folder of that funky image file.
