Disk Utility issues

I am running 10.8.2. When I use Disk Utility to verify my HD (not partitioned), it nearly always shows "incorrect number of extended attributes" , "The volume was found corrupt and needs to be repaired" and "Error: This disk needs to be repaired...". When I follow the instructions and boot into recovery mode, Disk Utility always says "this disk appears ok", with no otion to repair. What gives? Thanks.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
