Q: Siri won't Remind Me, Set Alarm, Open Apps (iPhone 5)

Everytime I ask Siri to remind me, set an alarm, and open apps it takes a long time then it says "Sorry, Matt, something's gone wrong. Can you try that again?" or Matt, we've had a problem. Can you please try that again?"

This happens on both Wifi and Data (4g and LTE).

Siri only seems to work when I ask it what time it is, What movies someone stars in, and something using Wolfram Alpha.

I just want Siri to work properly.

iPhone 5, iOS 6

This same thing is happening to me now, in 2016, on my iPhone 6s Plus... This is so frustrating!! Anyone got any idea how to fix this without going to the "genius" bar or erasing my whole phone?..

I forced reset my phone (held the home button and sleep/wake button until it shut off and then you see an apple logo) and now it's working again. Hope that helps you out anyone else who's having this VERY ANNOYING problem. Cheers.

This worked for me! Thanks! I just got the 6S on Sunday and Siri was not creating reminders or alarms. It was very annoying but this seemed to do the trick!!

Works for me as well. But where can we have a bug ticket opened for this?

This worked for a moment in time and then she failed to respond again. I returned the phone within 14 days so they gave me a brand new phone and I haven't had any issues.

I am having the same problem. I took it to the genuis bar. they told me to do a complete reset and reinstall. I was told not to reinstall from my backup as the problem might be in my software. So after spending many hours manually putting everything back on my phone, I continue to have the same issue!! I'm going back to the store with it tonight. NOT HAPPY.

Jerry, do you use any third party apps for mail or reminders?

I am still in touch with Apple Support who recently asked my for all the logs from my phone, but they suggested a third party app might be involved. This of course isn't much helpful as I'm using dozens of apps - this was the point of me moving to iOS from Windows Phone that were scarce with Microsoft platform. However, I still use Exchange with my in-built mail (corporate account) and Microsoft Outlook for private mail and contacts. I wonder if this might be the rogue app - but I just don't want to delete it. I already went with two wipe outs, and system restore from iTunes; and I'm just tired with trying to find this out for myself. But still, do you by any chance use anything from Microsoft?

I do not use any Microsoft apps. I took the phone to the Apple Store last night  and they exchanged it.  I have been rebuilding the phone with all fresh apps and not using my back up.  I have only been using the phone for a couple hours now not enough time to really find out if it's fixed, my fingers are crossed.

I had an iPhone 5 with the updated software and was having problems with Siri I just got a six yesterday back it up and Siri still not working... Should I go get a new phone? Or wipe this one? Then manually reinstall every app??? Que horror!!!

The first thing they told me to do before giving me a new phone was wipe out the data and  manually reinstall everything. Before I even got a few apps installed I noticed the problem was still there. I took the phone back to Apple and they gave me a new one. It has been one week and so far no problems. Knock on wood.

I was told the same...going to attempt the wipe and manual reinstallation of my stuff now. I will check on the Siri problem before I finish putting all the apps back on just in case I have to go get a new phone too. Thank you so much for your help I'll keep you posted

This is about the fifth fix I've tried, including a call to tech support. That call worked for a couple of days. So far so good on this reset gambit.
