Plugging Apple TV into 220v

I have an apple TV unit that was purchased in the states. It has a thin, black cord that has 125v 2.5amps engraved on both the wall socket plug and the Apple TV plug side. Can this be utilized on a European 220V power grid or do I need a seperate step down power converter?
