WHY CANT I SYNC MY IPAD TO MY MACBOOK

I have OS 10.5.8 on my MacBook with Itunes 10.6.1. I ususally have no problem syncing my Ipad2 to my MacBook. As of yesterday I began getting the following message when attempting to sync: "The iPad “Donella’s iPad” cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.6.3 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes."

Whenever I go into my Itunes on my computer and click the "Check for Updates" tab, it tells"This version of ITunes (10.6.1) is the current version. Also, I cannot upgrade to 10.6.3 from the Itunes website because it will only upgrade to computers with OS 10.6 or later. I'm not interested in upgrading my OS as this is a costly task. How can I get my Ipad sycing with my Macbook again withouth having to upgrade my OS?

A .dmg installer for iTunes version 10.6.3.25 for Mac OS can be found at the following download page on the Apple website:

b noir thanks! This solution worked.

However I just want to say that before I installed iTunes 10.6.3 I did a software update. This may have had a positive effect on my instalation of iTunes 10.6.3.

You have tried resetting you iPad before attempting to sync? (resetting is just tuning it off by depressing the Home and Sleep/On buttons and the same time and then turning it back on with the Sleep/On button

Besides, there is a article of how to sync iPad files to MacBook, which may help you finish you syncing easily.

Hello, I am having problems syncing my ipad mini to macbook too. Mymacbook itunes is 10.6.3 and everytime i try to sync my new ipadmini onto the macbook it says ipad requires at least 10.7 version itunes. I have already updated my itunes to the latest version and i do not wish to update my OS. Can you please help?
