you need to have an object to act as an action button for the hyperlink

as an example; draw a circle from the shapes from the toolbar

ensure its selected - it will show adjustment handles at the corners

open the inspector ( alt cmd I ) select the hyperlink tab

enable the hyperlink check box - a blue arrow will show on the object

in link to drop box select keynote file

click on choose and navigate to an other Keynote file

play the keynote and mouse over the button shape, it will change to a a pointed hand

click the object and it will open the 2nd file

you mean once you have viewd Keynote 2, how do you return to Keynote 1?

either add a button or other object in show 2 where you want the viewer to return, perhaps with a text on the button saying continue. link it back to the 1st show in exactly the same way as going from 1 to 2 .

An other way is to use the escape key on the keyboard, again an on screen instruction

saying " to return press the escape key".

If you wish to return to a specific slide in the first Keynote presentation, you will need to split the presentation into two parts.

Keynote links to another Keynote file will only link to the first slide in the other file - so if you try to return to where you left off, if it isn't the first slide in the set, you will be returned to the first slide. Not something most would want.

By splitting the file into two parts, you can jump from the end of the first file to another presentation and at the end of that jump to the beginning of the second part of your original. A(part1)->B->A(part2)

Be sure all files are on the same device and have been opened before you hit play so that you avoid any embarrassing hang-ups during play.

Good luck.
