iPhone wallpaper gradient

Greetings! I was wondering if there is a way to lighten or remove the iPhone wallpaper gradient that appears beneath the springboard bar. I know it can be done via jailbreak, but maybe there's a way without having to do that? Like an app of some sort?

Thanks in advance!

(I'm using iPhone 4S, iOS 6)

It's been a while since I used this site and this sort of response is just depressing.

If I want to change something on my laptop and I'm smart I just log into terminal as root and change it.

Doing this on the iphone/ipad to get rid of an annoying gradient is now "hacking".

If you guys are just users "like us" why are you so concerned with such overt policing of someone who is just trying to solve bad design.

You're making an assumption that "I don't like the design" equals "bad design" and that everyone here agrees with that assumption. And the Terms of Use are what makes this forum a far, far pleasanter one for most of us than some other forums, so, yes, we have a vested interest in obeying those rules. However, we have no power to enforce them. That's up to the Hosts.

If coming here depresses you, perhaps you should find a different sort of forum. Personally, I don't care whether you go or stay. It does, however, seem silly to voluntarily do something that makes you unhappy.

Best of luck.
