How do i get remote app on my iphone 3g?
(remote says requires 4.3 and 3g can only be updated upto 4.2.1
An iPhone 3G can't run iOS 4.3 or newer or any applications which require iOS 4.3 or newer.

But i had Remote app working on it before, somehow i wiped it all and all i would like to use it for is like a remote.

I have exactly the same problem (I have iPod 2G with 4.2.1), before it works (4.1 iOS), I have updated to the newest iOS that was available and I cannot use Remote app from Apple now!!! This is the way how you are supporting devices and installing the latest iOS?????

According to this kb, Remote app only requires iOS 3.1.3 and above.
This kb does not have the "out of date" notice at the top, so it must be current (all expired or superceded kb articles are updated clearly to indicate their non-current status).
I have an inquiry in with Apple concerning our 1st Gen iPod Touch which can't run this either, despite being on 3.1.3 (the last version of iOs that it can run).
I really do not care about some old KBs that seems to be still valid. If you do not believe, just try to install Remote 2.4 on iOS above 4.3!!!!!! As I can see, Apple doesnt care about it, they want just to have nicer selling numbers. I am refusing to buying new device every 2 years

I think you are confused. I DO believe you that you can't install Remote 2.4.
I have written to Apple asking for an explanation.
You need so install remote app 2.2ipa ...I had same problem but luckily I had on older computer. I can Email you the file if you have not found one. sirruben76@yahoo.com
