I have been working on a keynote presentation and have saved it numerous times and never had a problem opening it and adding info. However today I went to open it and the message box says: "Unable to open "vacation" because it isn't a valid keynote document. I need help to trouble shoot
Do you have a backup file if so use that
right click the file > get info what does it say;
- is the suffix ( .key) missing
- does it say keynote document at kind
are other K/n files opening correctly
have you performed routine maintenance
disc first aid > repair permissions?
Has the suffix (.key) and other keynote files do open correctly. Have not performed any disc first aid.
This happens to me frequently. Often if I try to open the same file again, it will work. Sometimes I have to close all other Keynote files before I can open a different one. Very frustrating!
I am not using Mountain Lion. I have Mac OS X 10.7.5.
