Xcode 4.5.1 fails to download on OS X 10.8.2

Hi everyone!

I've recently updated my system to Mountain Lion and tried to install Xcode 4.5.1 from App Store. The 1st time it started to download and went on for some time and than I got an error message "Xcode failed to download. Use the Purchases page to try again." Trying again does not help. All latest system updates are installed. Available space 50GB.

I am not very familiar with Mac programming and this is my first time intalling Xcode. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've found the solution. Apperantly this is a general App Store problem applicable to program downloads issues. I used suggestion from this message by bjbest https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3118115?answerId=15661563022#15661563022:

1. Open Terminal

2. Enter

defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true

3. Relaunch the AppStore

4. Choose the menu item Debug Menu -> Reset App

5. Choose the menu item Debug Menu -> Check for Available Downloads…

and also change DNSs to those of Google's as was also suggested in the thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3118115

Hope it helps!

Cheers!
