Q: Mouse lags when used on external monitor

Hi all,

I have a new MacbookPro Retina, connected to one Dell 2408WFP and one 2407WFP.
Whenever my mouse pointer is on one of the external monitors, I can feel a small but annoying delay in movement. It feels as the signal "takes too long through the cables".

Interestingly, when I move the cursor to the retina screen, everything seems fine. (I have my desktop extended.)

I tried both Decelerate, and SteerMouse. They let me change the acceleration and cursor speed, but I still feel the lag.

I also tried different mice (including a bluetooth mouse and a usb cable mouse and a trackpad). But the problem remains.

Has anyone any idea on what the cause could be?

Regards,

John

I also have this issue. I'm using a "Late 2006" iMac 17" with the ATI X1600 (MA590LL) running 10.7.5 connected to a 47" LG LED TV via mini-DVI to HDMI connection.  On the built-in display, the pointer moves in real time with the mouse.  On the TV, the pointer lags behind the mouse by about 100-200 ms. With (very) quick hand motions, it is possible to move the mouse and bring it to rest completely before there is any movement on the TV display.

This is occurs with a wireless USB Logitech mouse, a wired Mighty Mouse, and a Bluetooth Magic Mouse, so at least the mouse hardware appears to be exonerated.  No 3rd party (including Logitech) system preferences, drivers, or extensions are installed.

I have tried resetting the SMC and deleting the System Prefences and Universal Access plists in ~/Library/Preferences as read about in other similar posts on this board and elsewhere, but these actions made no difference.

    Any other thoughts?
